the cleansing flood

A prayer to the Holy Spirit…

Dear Holy Spirit
Welling up inside my heart
Just as anger, and grief, and happiness
Well up inside me
And they well up until a raging flood comes pouring out
Like a raging volcano of anger
Like a waterfall of tears in grief
Like a laugh echoing throughout the valley in happiness
It wells up inside me
And then, it releases
So if I allow you
To well up inside of me
I can pour forth raging, cleansing, rushing, flood waters
That soften the ground
For things to grow.
